11th January: Meeting Report
Thanks to Sue for taking most of these photos while I was otherwise occupied. It's got me thinking - stand by for me to ask you (anyone, not just Sue!) to take photos with my phone at future meetings.
Chris and myself (being otherwise occupied) on the partially assembled playground tractor for Trenode primary school.
Another Chris leading a session on planning for next events - our "New" Year Party on 25th January and the visit of MP Anna Gelderd at our 8th February meeting - plus an update on us getting our own shed, our growing list of community projects (almost 20!!), and training on using our tools.
A craft session, making ear rings, led by Sue
Ken testing the electrics of a defunct leaf blower (was it?) in the Repair Cafe
28 December 2024: Cross for Hillcrest
While we were creating the seaside mural in the Hillcrest care home I was asked whether Looe Shedders would make a cross for residents that couldn't get to church. I made one and this is a photo of me delivering it just before Christmas.
14th December 2024: Meeting Report
Lovely sunny morning.
Work to upgrade the security of our storage units following the theft of a lot of tools at the end of November. Since then Bob has installed the solar-powered security light on a scaffold pole in this picture. At the meeting Chris and Derek, among others, helped Bob fit other security precautions.
Colin working on the refurbishment of the Wendy House destined for Trenode primary school
Sue leading another session of wine bottle decorating

10th December 2024: Progress Report on Playground Tractor
We're making a playground tractor for Trenode primary school. Here's a drawing of what's planned:
The 75x75mm timbers of the base were donated by Simon, our treasurer. The composite decking was donated by another well-wisher. This is us making holes in the decking for the uprights supporting the seats:
The back wheels are made from a large cable drum donated by "Binkey", a trawler owner in Looe. Many thanks to Looe Hardbour Commission for facilitating this:
The sides of the bonnet, shown with the "dashboard" behind it, were made from the inner part of the cable drum:
This is the frame of the "dashboard" which sits behind the bonnet and is made from recycled wood donated by Kate Entwistle. The steering wheels are recycled from old sit-on lawnmowers:
The seats are made from recycled scaffold planks, also from Kate:
The front wheels are made from recycled 6x2 and scaffold planks, from Dave Peat Waste:
