Playground bus for Looe Primary School
Our latest community project is the construction of a playground bus for the school.
We have agreed the design and colour with the school, see below and have commenced building the base of the bus with reclaimed wood provided by Dave Peat Waste and some support posts donated by Bond Timber (Bodmin)
Completion of the upper works can now also proceed as Richards Builders Merchants have donated the necessary softwood for the seating and bonnet. It was delivered on Wednesday the 22nd of May, and the BBC reported on it here, and there is a video of the delivery here.
In July and August this year, Looe shedders collaborated with Looe Sea Swimmers and the Looe Pioneers running group on the creation of a walking roller coaster.
Peter Heywood came up with the idea after seeing a Youtube video of a similar one elsewhere.
The creation required a lot of large cardboard boxes, rope, glue and insulation tubing and paint.
After 4 sessions of mayhem, the final creation was revealed at Looe Carnival on the 5th of August, with Looe Shedders in a supporting role as "fixers"
You can see a video of it in action below, I think that you will agree that our effort was much more spectacular than the original inspiration.
Sound system cupboard for St. Martin’s Community Hall
Members will have seen the new sound system cupboard in the hall built by our members with wood provided by Jewsons.
Looe Shedders also provided the keypad lock, hinges and paint.
A sign on the cupboard credits Looe Shedders and Jewsons with providing this badly needed community asset.
LooeShedders members helped to prepare premises for
The Haven youth centre in Looe in 2021.
We fitted door closers, emergency signage, shelving and corrected the TV wall mount. We also helped with linking the PCs to the internet and installing software.
We would welcome enquiries from any other community groups or charities needing practical help.
