We Need Your Help!
Calling All Volunteers
Your Shedders management team, composed entirely of unpaid volunteers, dedicates an immense amount of effort to run and develop our company.
However, we can't do it all on our own, and we need your assistance.
Volunteer Opportunity: Grant Application
We’re looking for someone who can help us secure essential funding for our community‑driven projects.
This role suits someone who is organised, confident with written communication, and motivated to help a small charity grow.
What you’ll do
•
Research and identify suitable grant opportunities for Looe Shedders.
•
Draft clear, persuasive applications for grants up to £5,000.
•
Work with the management team to gather information, evidence, and stories that demonstrate our impact.
•
Track deadlines, submissions, and outcomes to keep applications moving.
What you will bring
•
A methodical, detail‑focused approach to gathering and presenting information.
•
Confidence in writing clearly and persuasively.
•
A proactive, “let’s get this done” attitude — someone who follows things through.
•
No prior grant‑writing experience is required; enthusiasm and reliability matter most.
Why this role matters
Your work will directly helps us secure the funding that keeps our Shed thriving and enables us to support creativity, well‑being, and community
connection across Looe.
Volunteer Opportunity: Help in our Repair Cafe
Are you the Mr or Mrs Fixit in your home.
We could use your skills in our Repair Cafe. See Repair Cafe for more information.
Alternatively we could use some reserve resources to act as receptionists in our Cafe.
Your Role:
•
Repairers bring practical, hands‑on skills in one or more areas such as small electricals, mechanical items, textiles, tools, or household goods.
•
No one is expected to know everything — each volunteer contributes in the areas they’re comfortable with, working alongside others to diagnose
faults and attempt safe, simple repairs.
•
A good repairer is curious, patient, safety‑minded, and willing to share knowledge while helping visitors understand what’s gone wrong and whether
an item can be fixed.
To volunteer or learn more about either of these roles, please get in touch with Chris Roy via our Contact Us page
